Books by Tammy Healan

Easy to read educational kids books

Biography:

My name is Tammy Healan and I live in Northern Michigan with my boyfriend and our five kids. I grew up in the small town of Montrose and moved North when I was 24. I've tried different jobs from housekeeping, waitressing and even factory work. I owned and operated two businesses, but with little success. It's hard to do something when your heart isn't completely in it. I even spent 3 1/2 years in Nursing school, but knew the entire time it wasn't what I wanted to do.

I always knew I wanted to be a writer, but heard a lot of negativity from others about how writers are starving and only certain people can get published.  I never wanted to get rich or even to be famous, I just wanted to write. It took me years to finally push all the negativity aside and persue my dreams.

I believe everyone has a passion, a will, or a drive to do one thing that makes them feel good. For me, it's writing.

Since I decided to quit listening to everyone else and decided to do what makes me happy, I've written many articles and short stories for a variety of online magazines and I even got into blogging. I wrote and published my first children's book, I Live Inside Your Head and have a contract with a publishing company for a series on fascinating bugs.

My true passion is writing for children and educating them in a fun, entertaining way. Fun facts, pictures and guessing games are the key to keeping a readers attention, so I try to add a variety to each of my stories.

I am currently putting all my works in progress aside and am concentrating soley on my first chapter book, Bethany's Fight. This book is dedicated to my friend Bethany who was recently diagnosed with hodgkin's lymphoma.

I welcome everyone to my website and hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I have enjoyed writing them!

Best of luck to everyone who has a dream! Persue it. Don't be afraid to fall. Getting back up is what counts. The more we fall, the stronger we get. And most important ... don't let anyone tell you, you can't do it. Conquer your dreams!

Sincerely,

Tammy Healan
